Each week, the new Kid's Corner space is for our youngest members - and the grown-ups who love them - to explore faith in fun and meaningful ways. Easter Sunday, we began a new series all about butterflies: those tiny miracles that remind us how change can be slow, surprising, and full of wonder. The series will last a few weeks into the season of Easter. Yes, Easter is a season - not just a day - lasting for seven weeks, until Pentecost Sunday!
Here's the content shared for the first week of the series:

Becoming: A Butterfly Series — Week 1 We’re beginning a new series all about butterflies: those tiny miracles that remind us how change can be slow, surprising, and full of wonder.

Did you know that when a caterpillar is inside its chrysalis, it doesn’t just grow wings? It melts into goo! It becomes a kind of “caterpillar soup,” and from that strange, quiet place, something beautiful is born. It’s a little mysterious - even to scientists!

Easter reminds us that even when things look still, or even broken, God is still working. Like the tomb on Easter morning, the chrysalis looks empty or stuck. But inside, new life is forming. And when it’s time, the butterfly doesn’t just crawl... it flies.

Grown-Up Gear: So much of real transformation happens in the in-between: not where we started, and not quite where we’re going. That’s where the goo comes in. In our own lives, this might be a season of grief, change, growth, or waiting. Let this be an invitation to hold space for the messiness and mystery of becoming.

A little prayer: Loving Creator, Thank you for making butterflies from goo, and hope from hidden places. Help us be patient when we’re in the middle, when we don’t know what’s coming next. Remind us that you are always working, even when we can’t see it. And when it’s time, help us spread our wings and fly. Amen.

Next week in Becoming: A Butterfly Series Did you know butterflies can remember being caterpillars, even after turning into goo? Scientists have discovered that they can still recognize things they learned before they changed. Next week, we’ll wonder together how our memories before the goo, the things we’ve learned, loved, or struggled with, are still important as we grow into something new.
